Booking
A timed-entry reservation on the Korea National Park Service reservation system is required (5,000 people a day); Klook also sells a guided full-day hike from Seoul.
Heullimgol is a deep valley on the Yangyang side of Seoraksan, named for the mist that so often hangs in it and makes the day look overcast. The trail passes 20 m Yeosim Falls, then climbs a very steep 300 m to Deungseondae, a lookout over the Manmulsang crags, before continuing past Deungseon Falls and Geumgangmun Gate down Jujeongol Valley to the Osaek mineral spring. Closed after a 2015 flood and rockfalls, it reopened in 2022 with detours and protective tunnels at 22 rockfall spots. Entry is capped at 5,000 people a day in timed slots, so you must reserve through the Korea National Park Service.

Tips
- The 300 m from Yeosim Falls to the Deungseondae entrance is very steep, so wear proper hiking shoes.
- The autumn foliage brings the biggest crowds, so book your October slot early.
