Booking
GetYourGuide sells a day trip from Seoul that starts at Sokcho Beach and continues to the Sokcho fish market and Seoraksan.
Opened in 1976, Sokcho Beach is one of the easiest beaches on the east coast to reach: the express bus terminal is within walking distance and downtown is close by. The water is clear and shallow with a gentle slope, so it is packed in July and August, but there is something to see in every season. Behind the sand are a pine grove, a small park and walking paths, and the beach is dotted with sculptures such as a giant compass, dolphins and the Korean initials of Sokcho (ㅅㅊ). A big picture frame facing the sea and a 'stairway to heaven' are the favorite photo spots, and the beach hosts busking, a summer beach festival and a Sokcho craft beer festival.
