Every spring, white cherry blossoms and pink double-flowered cherries arch over the road on the north side of Chungju Dam, joined by forsythia and magnolia. The stretch runs from Chungwongyo Bridge to the dam's power station; a deck path follows the water, and the upper branch leads to the Water Culture Center, whose second-floor café makes a good break with a view. Look out for the cat statues along the way, a nod to the many cats that lived here before the center was built, and the small waterfall rest stop.
