Booking
No booking is needed to visit. Klook sells a walking tour around Yongduam with a hanbok photoshoot, and GetYourGuide sells a small-group west coast tour from Jeju City with a stop here.
Yongduam, 'Dragon Head Rock', stands on the north shore of Jeju City, worn by centuries of wind and waves into the shape of a dragon lifting its head from the water. Two legends explain it. In one, a dragon stole a jade bead from the mountain god of Hallasan, who shot it down with an arrow, leaving its body under the sea and its head frozen facing the sky. In the other, a white horse that longed to become a dragon turned to stone when a warrior caught it. From here the Yongdam–Dodu coastal road heads west past cafes and restaurants toward Iho Beach and Aewol.
