Booking
No booking is needed to visit. KKday sells an English-guided day tour from Busan that includes Yi Sun-sin Park.
In August 1592 Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Joseon fleet won a decisive battle against the Japanese navy in these waters, securing supply routes and breaking the invaders' spirit during the Imjin War. This park on the shore near the Dongho Port breakwater was built to remember the Battle of Hansando. A 17.3 m bronze statue of the admiral stands near the pavilion at its center, facing the sea where his 'crane wing' formation once closed on the enemy. Around it are a memorial tower to sailors lost off Tongyeong, a waterfront deck path, a hydrangea walk, a barrier-free trail, lawns and a children's playground, with Mangilbong peak rising behind.
