Booking
Day tours from Seoul that add Sanjeong Lake to Pocheon Art Valley and Herb Island can be booked on GetYourGuide (group tour) and KKday (private tour).
Sanjeong means 'a well in the mountains', and the lake was made in 1925 as a reservoir for farm irrigation. Myeongseongsan and other peaks rise around it, with Jainsa Temple and the Deungnyong and Biseon waterfalls nearby. It was named a national tourist resort in March 1977; walking the lakeshore is the main draw, and the area also has boating, a sculpture park, an amusement park and a sledding slope.
