At a glance

Jeongbang's water thunders down from a seaside cliff, and when the sun hits the spray a rainbow often hangs over the blue water. KTO describes it as the only waterfall in Korea that falls from land directly into the sea, and it ranks with Cheonjiyeon and Cheonjeyeon as one of Jeju's three famous falls. Its summer scene was long counted among the ten views of Yeongju, an old name for Jeju. Legend says Xu Fu, sent by China's First Emperor to find the herb of immortality on Hallasan, failed, carved 'Seobul passed here' on the cliff and sailed back west.
