Booking

No booking is needed to see the estuary. KKday sells a boat fishing trip from Soesokkak that must be reserved in advance.

Soesokkak is where the fresh water of the Hyodoncheon stream meets the sea and gathers in a deep pool inside a gorge of hardened lava. The name breaks down as soe (cow), so (pool) and kkak (end); the spot was once called Soedun because the land looked like a resting cow. Strangely shaped rocks and pine woods line the water, and it's counted among the hidden scenic spots of Seogwipo. Hahyo-dong, on Hallasan's southern slopes, is a major tangerine-growing area, so the scent of citrus often hangs in the air.
