Jangtaesan is known for its dense stands of metasequoia, which KTO calls the only forest of its kind in Korea, and it is well suited to family forest walks. A raised skyway and an observation tower take you up among the trunks, and on the ground there are trails, a suspension bridge, an acupressure path, an eco pond, a forest classroom and a garden of plants from school textbooks. Higher up, a lookout on Hyeongje Bawi (Brothers Rock) near the summit is a sunset spot, with odd rock formations such as Janggunbong around it, and cabins let you stay the night in the forest.
