Booking
Klook and GetYourGuide sell DMZ day tours from Seoul that stop at Imjingak, including its North Korea Experience Hall and a tour on the story of Korean War abductees.
Millions of Korean and foreign visitors a year come to Imjingak, on the Imjin River near the DMZ, to remember the Korean War and the division it left behind. Its most striking sights are reminders of what was cut off: a train that once ran north to Sinuiju, the piers of an Imjin railway bridge destroyed in the fighting, and the Mangbaedan altar, where people displaced from the North bow toward the families they could never go back to. War memorials, including those for the Imjin River battles and for US forces, stand around the 46-hectare grounds, which also hold an exhibition hall, the Pyeonghwa-Nuri peace park, the Peace Gondola and the Korean War Abductees' Memorial Hall.
