Booking
A small-group photography tour of Gyeongju with hotel pickup that stops here is sold on KKday.
The Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Environment Research Institute, which studies forests and raises successor trees of natural monuments, still works on the west side of the road; the east side, with its woods, streams and gardens, opened to the public in 2023 as the province's first local-government garden and Korea's fifth. A metasequoia avenue leads to the Mirror Forest, where a single-log bridge is reflected in a clear stream, then on to bonsai and rock gardens, the Seorabeol Garden with its cloud waterfall, and the willow-pond garden. The log bridge, a TV drama filming spot, is a favorite photo stop.

Tips
- Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond, Queen Seondeok's tomb and Woljeonggyo Bridge are about 10 minutes away by car, so the garden fits easily into a Gyeongju day.
- Plant labels explain each species well, which makes it a good stop with children.
