KKday sells a Gapado day tour guided by a haenyeo writer.
Gapado, the fourth-largest of Jeju's outlying islands, looks from above like a stingray swimming through the sea, which is one explanation for its name. It has no real climbs, so you can walk all of it in one to two hours, or rent a bike near the port. Every spring its barley grows taller than a meter and ripples in the wind against stone walls and sea, and from early April to early May a barley festival brings field walks, an Olle-trail treasure hunt and outdoor shows. Fans of the drama Our Blues may know it from episodes 11 and 12.
