Booking

KKday sells a private car day tour from Seoul that stops at Anmok coffee street.

Anmok's seafront has been known for coffee since the early 1980s. In the 1990s skilled baristas and roasters began opening shops here to sell beans they roasted themselves, and coffee lovers from around the country followed. Today Gangneung counts almost as many coffee shops as raw-fish restaurants, and Anmok is where to sample both house roasts and desserts with a sea view. The city also holds a coffee festival every year.

Tips

  • Try beans roasted in-house: many cafés here roast their own, so each cup tastes a little different.
