What it means
카드 (kadeu) is “card,” and 돼요? (dwaeyo?) is the polite form of 되다 (doeda). The Basic Korean Dictionary lists senses of 되다 including “be allowed; be permitted; can; may,” “do; be enough” (all right, no problem) and “work; go well.” So 카드 돼요? asks whether paying by card is possible.
When to use it
Ask before you order or pay, especially at small restaurants and market stalls. You can also hold up your card and say “카드?” with a questioning tone.
Ask the price too
To ask the price at the same time, add 이거 얼마예요? (igeo eolmayeyo?).
