NOCTEMARE joins the words for night and sea, and its theme is the night sea that Yeosu is known for. The pavilion covers about 4,600 m² (roughly 1,400 pyeong) and is laid out as eight exhibition spaces, where themed videos full of Yeosu's character play to music by a range of artists. Beyond the media art there is an art gallery and a rooftop café with a water feature, looking out over the sea at Manseong-ri from the side of Maresan hill.
