Opened in 2001 and registered as a specialist museum, Jeju Folk Village takes the 1890s as its reference point. Its roughly 100 traditional houses were once lived in by islanders and were rebuilt here with their original stones and posts, then filled with farm tools, fishing gear, furniture and everyday goods. Native trees and flowers bloom across the grounds through the seasons, black pigs and other livestock are kept on site, and themed halls and hands-on houses round out the visit.
