Cafes on Gubongsan compete for the view: most have floor-to-ceiling glass or outdoor terraces facing Chuncheon, a city ringed by mountains, lakes and rivers, and many add their own photo spots, from a Santorini-style building to a skywalk lookout. Between the upmarket cafes there's also a simple rest stop selling canned coffee and janchi-guksu noodles. The street grew up after a road was cut across the mountain's mid-slope in the 1990s. Gubongsan, named for its nine peaks, sits just outside the city on the east, and both midday and sunset views are popular.
