Nothing to book for a visit; Daegu Hyanggyo is also a stop on a GetYourGuide day tour of Daegu.

A hyanggyo was a state-run school in the provinces that both taught local students and honored Confucian sages with rites. Daegu's school was destroyed by fire more than once, including during the Imjin War of the 1590s, and moved several times before settling at its present site in 1932. The grounds keep the shrine hall Daeseongjeon, the lecture hall Myeongnyundang and two dormitory wings, plus stone stelae recording the building and repair of Daegu's old city walls. Teaching ended after the Gabo Reform of 1894, but Seokjeon rites for Confucius are still held every spring and autumn.
