Booking

Klook, KKday and GetYourGuide each sell a Boryeong day tour from Seoul that combines the Sky Bike, Daecheon Beach, Boryeong's mud attractions and Seongjusan Recreational Forest.

Daecheon's sand runs about 3.5 km and is around 100 m wide, shelving gently into the West Sea, and the beach has drawn holidaymakers since the 1930s, when it began as a resort for foreigners. KTO calls it the largest beach on Korea's west coast. The shore divides into a Sunset Plaza and a Mud Plaza, and each year the Boryeong Mud Festival fills it with mud-themed events. At one end, the Boryeong Mud Experience Center offers mud saunas, heated mud-floored rooms, self-applied mud packs and mud massages.

Tips

  • Stay for the evening: the sunsets over the promenade are a big part of Daecheon's appeal.
  • If you ride the Sky Bike, go at high tide, when the rails run over water.
