KKday sells a 10-hour Jecheon day tour from Seoul that includes the complex.
When Chungju Dam was built, the villages of Cheongpung and their heritage lay in the area set to go underwater. From the early 1980s the historic buildings were taken apart and rebuilt here in their original form, and the complex now holds about 40 heritage pieces and everyday relics, including a hyanggyo (Confucian school), government offices, traditional houses and stone monuments. The highlight is Hanbyeongnu, a pavilion from the Goryeo period, with a fine view over the lake.
