Booking

GetYourGuide sells two 10-hour Seoul day trips that pair Cheongnamdae with Beopjusa Temple, and KKday a day tour with Unbo's House and the Chojeong mineral spring.

Cheongnamdae, roughly 'the Blue House of the warm south,' served as the official vacation retreat of Korea's presidents from 1983, where they met guests, discussed regional issues and hosted foreign dignitaries. Five presidents stayed here a total of 88 times before it opened to the public on April 18, 2003. Today you can walk around the main residence and grounds, which include a golf course, a helipad, a fish pond and several pavilions, all beside Daecheong Lake. The landscaped trees and wildflowers change with the seasons, and the protected grounds shelter wildlife such as otters and flying squirrels, as well as migratory birds.
