The Moonlight Rainbow Fountain was a flagship of Seoul's Hangang Renaissance project: work began in June 2007 and it opened in April 2009. To fill the Han's roughly 700 m width, 380 nozzles were fitted along 1,140 m on the upstream and downstream sides of Banpo Bridge, pumping up river water and dropping it about 20 m to the surface. On November 7, 2008, Guinness World Records listed it as the world's longest bridge fountain. By day it makes some 100 patterns, such as swaying willow branches; at night 200 lights turn the falling water into rainbow colors set to music.
