The Hahoe Byeolsingut Tallori mask dance is staged as a regular performance, and the Andong International Mask Dance Festival is held every autumn. Programs include a traditional wedding and seasonal customs. A ferry boat crosses the river toward Buyongdae. Parking is free. Information center: 054-840-3795.

Hahoe, 'where the river turns', sits inside an S-shaped loop of the Nakdonggang, and the Pungsan Ryu clan has lived here for generations; the Joseon scholars Ryu Un-ryong and Ryu Seong-ryong were born here. Big tile-roofed clan houses at the center are ringed by thatched homes, all facing outward from a low rise, so they point in every direction. Across the river rise the Buyongdae cliffs above sandbanks and an old pine grove, and a 1999 visit by Queen Elizabeth II made the village known worldwide.
