What it's about

Hong Hae-in is the third-generation heiress of the Queens Group, and her husband Baek Hyun-woo is the son of a farming family from the village of Yongdu-ri. Three years into their marriage, things have gone cold and divorce is on his mind, until unexpected news forces them both to look at their marriage again.

It was written by Park Ji-eun (Crash Landing on You) and directed by Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won.

Why people love it

The finale drew 24.85% nationwide (Nielsen Korea), the highest rating in tvN history, beating Crash Landing on You's 21.7%. It also topped Netflix's global non-English TV chart.

The contrast between Hae-in's glossy chaebol mansion and Hyun-woo's noisy, loving village family gives it both laughs and tears.

Where to watch & good to know

It's on Netflix in many countries; check your region (in Korea it streams on TVING). There are 16 episodes, aired March 9 to April 28, 2024.

You can ride through a filming spot: the Mungyeong Rail Bike, pedal carts on old coal-train tracks along the Yeonggang River, includes a Queen of Tears location.
