Kim Ji-won (Queen of Tears) plays Gye Su-jeong, a freelance surgeon with extraordinary skills who stands up to the power games and corruption inside a big hospital. It's a Korean version of Japan's long-running hit Doctor-X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon, moved to the Korean medical world of 2026.
Lee Jung-eun plays Jang Hee-sook, who runs the agency that sends doctors out to hospitals. Son Hyun-joo is the new hospital director, and Kim Woo-seok is a rookie intern.
Why it's trending
Episode 1 drew 11.4% (Nielsen Korea, nationwide households), the best premiere of any 2026 miniseries. Episode 2 jumped to 14.9%, peaking at 17.4% minute-by-minute, and was No. 1 across all channels that Saturday. On Netflix it debuted at No. 1 on the global non-English TV chart for October 5–11 with 4.6 million views and reached the Top 10 in 36 countries. In FUNdex's buzz ranking for the same week it was the No. 1 drama, and Kim Ji-won was the most talked-about actor.
Where to watch
In Korea it airs on SBS every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST. It also streams on Netflix and made the Top 10 in 36 countries in its first week, so it's widely available, but check Netflix in your own country.
Good to know: you don't need to know the Japanese original to follow it. It's billed as a medical noir, so expect hospital power struggles and tense operating-room scenes.
