Booking
Klook sells round-trip high-speed ferry tickets to Ulleungdo from Gangneung or Mukho, about 3 hours each way.
Ulleungdo was built up by volcanic eruptions, and most of its shoreline is steep cliff. Around the main island lie 44 smaller islands and rocks, among them Samseonam, Ttanbawi and Elephant Rock, as well as Gwaneumdo, which once had residents and is now empty; Ulleung County also takes in Jukdo and, much farther out, Dokdo. The cliffs draw rock climbers to routes such as the Dodong sea cliffs, Jeodong's Yongbawi and Janggunbawi. Walkers can follow the Ulleung Haedamgil, nine courses restored from the shore, mountain and stream paths islanders have used since the island was resettled.

- Add a trip to Dokdo: passenger ships leave from Ulleungdo's Dodong and Sadong ports.
- Walk a stretch of the Ulleung Haedamgil to see the island at a slower pace; there are nine courses to choose from.
