Booking

KKday sells an evening tour that stops at Seoullo 7017 along with Deoksugung and the Banpo Bridge fountain. Seoul walking tours with city tourism guides, covering Seoullo, Culture Station Seoul 284, Sungnyemun Gate and the city wall, are booked ahead on the VisitSeoul website.

The Seoul Station overpass, built in the 1970s, was due to be torn down after safety problems were found. Instead the city turned it into Seoullo 7017, a pedestrian walkway that reconnects the neighborhoods around the station. The name packs in the story: a 1970 overpass reborn in 2017, a road for cars turned into 17 paths for people, standing 17 m high. Along the way are an information center, rest areas, a cafe, a small exhibition hall and a garden classroom.
