Klook sells tickets for the theater's 2026 show series (ages 7 and up), and KKday sells tickets for its traditional Korean performances.
The theater opened in 1995 as Jeongdong Theater, conceived as a revival of Wongaksa, Korea's first modern theater. From 2000 it ran traditional performances all year round for Korean and international audiences, and it was later renamed the National Jeongdong Theater as it took on a wider public role. Besides staging shows in many genres, it picks promising new works at an early stage and develops them into full productions. Jeongdong-gil, where it stands, is often called the starting point of modern Korean arts.
