Seoul Botanic Park opened in May 2019 in Magok, the last large undeveloped area in Seoul, as a 'botanic park' that combines a botanic garden with a public park, about the size of 70 football fields. It is laid out in four areas: the Open Forest, Lake Garden, Wetland Garden and Theme Garden. In the Theme Garden, the glasshouse, described as the only concave, dish-shaped greenhouse in the world, displays native plants from 12 cities in tropical and Mediterranean climate zones. Behind the scenes it also works on conserving endangered plants and promoting city gardening.
