At a glance

Huinnyeoul Village grew up on the slopes of Mt. Bongnaesan in Yeongdo, where refugees made new lives, and its name, roughly "white rapids", comes from the streams that once rushed down the hillside to the sea like falling snow. Since December 2011 empty and abandoned houses have been remodeled, turning it into an arts and culture village run together with the residents. Its narrow sea-view lanes have appeared in many films and TV dramas.
