Camellia Hill in Sangchang-ri, Andeok-myeon, gathers about 6,000 camellia trees of more than 500 varieties from around the world, including the variety with the world's largest flower, the earliest bloomer and scented kinds. Because each variety flowers at its own time, something is in bloom from autumn to spring, and winter brings the showiest display of red blossoms. Palms, about 250 native Jeju plants, wildflowers, a lawn and a pond fill out the grounds, and there are guest cottages on site.

Tips

  • For camellias at their peak, come in winter; with so many varieties, though, some are in flower from autumn through spring.
