What it is
An official tvN clip from episode 7. Ji-yeong (Lim Yoon-a) needs a pressure cooker for the next round of a cooking contest with Ming envoys, but craftsman Jang Chun-saeng (Ko Chang-seok) won't help the court. Hearing his Busan accent, she fries Dongnae pajeon outside his house in the rain. King Yi Heon (Lee Chae-min) eats it with makgeolli right in front of him, and one bite takes Chun-saeng back to the feast days of his childhood. He agrees to build the cooker.
Why people are watching
Rain and jeon go together in Korea: the Korea Tourism Organization says the sound of rain is like jeon sizzling in a pan, so people still crave it on rainy days. The drama, which streams on Netflix, was a hit at home and abroad: its sixth episode drew 12.7%, then tvN's best of the year, and it ranked No. 2 among Netflix's non-English series.
