What it's about
Yoon Se-ri is a successful businesswoman about to take over her family's conglomerate. While paragliding, a sudden storm blows her across the border, and she lands in North Korea at the feet of Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok of the Korean People's Army. He decides to hide her while she looks for a way home.
It aired on tvN from December 2019 to February 2020 in 16 episodes, written by Park Ji-eun and directed by Lee Jung-hyo.
Why people love it
The finale averaged 21.7% and peaked at 24.1% (Nielsen Korea, paid-platform households), the highest rating in tvN drama history at the time, beating Goblin's 20.5%. That record stood until Queen of Tears, by the same writer, in 2024.
Fans love the mix of slapstick, small-village warmth and big romance, plus Swiss Alps scenery and the North Korean village where Se-ri gets to know the locals.
Where to watch & good to know
It's on Netflix in many countries; check your region. All 16 episodes are out, so you can binge it.
You can visit a real filming spot: the campfire picnic with Ri Jeong-hyeok's soldiers was shot on Binaeseom Island by the Namhangang River in Chungju. Binae Trail Course 1 is about 7 km, roughly two hours on foot.
