Booking
GetYourGuide sells two guided tours that pair the museum with Gyeongbokgung and Bukchon, ending at Gwangjang Market or Jogyesa Temple. The Children's Museum takes advance reservations on the museum's website.
The National Folk Museum of Korea specializes in the history of everyday life, with its main building inside Gyeongbokgung and a second site in Paju. Its three permanent galleries follow a Korean's day, year and lifetime through traditional household objects, and special and outdoor exhibitions add more. Outside you'll find statues of the twelve zodiac animals, jangseung village guardian posts, an ox-driven millstone and the 'Street of Memories', which recreates an alley of the 1970s and 80s. The Children's Museum next to Gallery 2 teaches traditional culture through hands-on activities.
