Booking

Klook sells a Seoul day tour that includes a one-way Bukhan River cruise to Nami Island and Jaraseom, and KKday sells a seasonal Seoul day tour that visits Jaraseom's flower festival in spring and autumn.

Jaraseom took shape in the Bukhan River after the Cheongpyeong Dam was built in 1943, and lies only about 800 m from Nami Island as the crow flies. Its name comes from a nearby hill said to look like a jara, a soft-shelled turtle, gazing at it. Of its four islets — East, West, Central and South — the west one holds an auto campground, the central one an eco-culture park with a lawn more than 100 m across, and the Ihwawon nature garden sits at the far end of the campground. Jaraseom is best known as the home of the Jarasum International Jazz Festival.

Tips

  • Nami Island is only about 800 m away, and the Klook tour links the two by river cruise.
  • The flower festival is a spring and autumn event; KKday's tour swaps in Eobi Ice Valley in winter.
