Hwadam Botanic Garden is run by the LG Evergreen Foundation as a public-interest project; it was approved in 2006 and opened officially in 2013. Its 16 themed gardens follow the natural valleys and ridges of Nogobong and display some 4,000 native and introduced plant species, and the site is also a field research center for restoring endangered plants and animals to the wild. 'Hwadam' means a warm, friendly conversation. The whole 5 km forest walk is laid out on gentle slopes so that wheelchair users, older visitors and families with strollers can enjoy it.
