Achasan, on the border of Seoul and Guri, is a gentle 295.7 m mountain whose summit, about 40 minutes up the trail, opens onto a 360-degree view from Jamsil to Namsan, Bukhansan and Dobongsan. Its history runs deep: Baekje built an earth-and-stone fortress here to guard the Han River against Goguryeo to the north, and together with Pungnap Fortress south of the river it became a key point that Baekje, Silla and Goguryeo fought over. Records call it by several names, including Adanseong and Achaseong.
