What it is
M Countdown is the weekly chart show of Mnet, CJ ENM’s music channel. Mnet’s official YouTube channel bills it as the “World No.1 Kpop Chart Show,” live on Mnet every Thursday at 6 p.m. Korea time. The show aired its 20th-anniversary special on July 18, 2024.
How the No. 1 is decided
The official Mnet Plus chart page lists M Countdown’s score breakdown: digital sales 50%, album sales 15%, global social media 15%, global fan votes 10%, Mnet broadcast 10% and live votes 10%. Those shares add up to 110%, and the page doesn’t explain why. The data come from Circle Chart (Apple Music, Spotify, Melon, Bugs, VIBE, Genie, FLO, YouTube, Tencent Music, KakaoMusic, Samsung Music and V Coloring) plus TikTok.
How to watch or attend
In Korea it airs live on Mnet, and stage videos on Mnet’s official YouTube channel (Mnet K-POP) link to streaming on TVING. Mnet Plus also lists each episode on its live page, but notes that some live streams aren’t available in certain regions because of licensing and copyright rules. Neither the Mnet Plus nor the CJ ENM page explains how to join the studio audience.
