Our Beloved Summer OST (2CD, SBS drama)
What it's about
In high school, top student Kook Yeon-su and last-place Choi Ung were paired up for a TV documentary. They later dated and broke up. Ten years on, the old documentary goes viral, and the two, now a PR specialist and an illustrator, are asked to film a follow-up together.
It aired on SBS from December 2021 to January 2022, written by Lee Na-eun and directed by Kim Yoon-jin.
Why people love it
Its TV ratings in Korea were modest, but it found a big audience on Netflix: on January 19, 2022 it was No. 9 on Netflix's Top 10 TV shows, and it topped Netflix's daily charts in Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Fans love its soft, realistic take on first love, and the soundtrack, including 'Christmas Tree' sung by BTS's V.
Where to watch & good to know
It's on Netflix in many countries; check your region. All 16 episodes are out.
Gamgodang-gil in Bukchon Hanok Village appears in the final episode. If you go, remember Bukchon's Red Zone is open to tourists only from 10:00 to 17:00; it's a lived-in neighborhood.
