Visit Busan Pass: is it worth it? Plus the best Busan tours

The Visit Busan Pass covers more than 34 paid attractions, but not everything. Here's how it works, when single tickets make more sense, and the day tours, food tour and Gyeongju trip worth booking from Busan.

Is the Visit Busan Pass worth it?

It depends on how many paid attractions you'll fit in. The 24- and 48-hour passes cover more than 34 paid attractions, including BUSAN X the SKY, the Haeundae Beach Train, Busan Tower, the Songdo Marine Cable Car, Skyline Luge Busan, Lotte World Busan and the Busan City Tour, with one entry to each. If your day strings together three or four of these, do the math: add up the single prices of the places you'll actually visit and compare them with the pass price on the store page.

The pass isn't worth it if your plan is mostly free sights. Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Market, Haeundae Beach, Bulguksa and Seokguram cost nothing to enter, and as of October 2026 the Sky Capsule isn't on the pass list.

  • 24H and 48H passes start when you get your first attraction ticket. Start a 24-hour pass at 09:00 and it runs until 08:59 the next day.
  • Big 3 lets you pick 1 attraction from Group A and 2 from Group B; Big 5 is 2 from A and 3 from B.
  • The card pass doubles as a rechargeable transit card for subways and buses; the mobile pass doesn't.
  • For the mobile pass, show the QR code in the app you bought it from. Screenshots, printouts and PDFs aren't accepted.

Haeundae: Blueline Park and BUSAN X the SKY

Haeundae Blueline Park reuses 4.8 km of an old coastal railway east of the beach. The Beach Train runs the whole way from Mipo to Songjeong in about 25 minutes, and the Sky Capsule runs only between Mipo and Cheongsapo. As of October 2026 the Beach Train runs 09:00–19:30 and the Sky Capsule 08:30–18:30; from November 1 they stop at 19:00 and 18:00. The official site releases each week's tickets on the Tuesday four weeks before, at 07:00.

Every capsule ticket is one way, so plan your return by Beach Train or a second capsule. BUSAN X the SKY stands at the east end of the beach, on the way from Jungdong Station (Line 2) Exit 7 to Mipo, so the capsule and the observatory fit into one afternoon.

Busan day tours: what you get

Busan's big sights are spread out, and a day tour links them without any bus planning. One Klook tour runs 9 to 10 hours from Busan subway station, Seomyeon and Haeundae through Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Cheongsapo and Blueline Park, then Huinnyeoul and Gamcheon Culture Villages. Another, the Busan Highlight City Tour, takes small groups of 4 to 16 people, with packages built around the Sky Capsule, Gamcheon and Huinnyeoul or the Songdo cable car; it needs at least 4 people to run.

Check which package includes ride tickets. On the first tour's basic package, Beach Train and Sky Capsule tickets are extra and can sell out on site. Both tours meet at the Busan subway station, not the KTX station, so read the exit number carefully.

Jagalchi on a food tour

Jagalchi is Busan's signature seafood market: you pick live fish on the 1st floor and eat it at the raw-fish restaurants on the 2nd. Klook's 2-hour food tour is led by a local chef. It starts at 16:00 at Jagalchi Station Exit 10 and walks through BIFF Square and Gukje Market to Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, whose night market opens at 19:30.

The market's 1st-floor fish market and 2nd-floor raw-fish center close on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays of each month, which leaves October 20, November 3 and November 17 in autumn 2026. On those days, try Sindonga Seafood Market next door: it works the same way and closes on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays instead. The tour gives a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours ahead.

A Gyeongju side trip, and the KTX from Seoul

Gyeongju, the old Silla capital, is under 30 minutes from Busan by KTX, and its UNESCO-listed pair, Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, have been free to enter since May 2023. As of October 2026 both admit visitors until 17:30, moving to 17:00 from November 1. Seokguram sits high on Mt. Tohamsan, linked to Bulguksa by only one bus an hour, so a tour package that includes it saves you from planning around that bus.

From Seoul, the KTX reaches Busan Station in about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the train. Korail opens ticket sales at 07:00 two months before departure, and a ticket bought on Klook lives on your phone, so you board without a counter.

FAQ

Free entry to more than 34 paid attractions, such as BUSAN X the SKY, the Haeundae Beach Train, Busan Tower, the Songdo Marine Cable Car and Skyline Luge Busan, plus discounts at over 150 restaurants, shops and activities. The 24- and 48-hour passes give one entry to each attraction within that time.

Is the Sky Capsule included in the Visit Busan Pass?

No. As of October 2026 the official attraction list includes the Haeundae Beach Train but not the Sky Capsule, so book the capsule separately on Blueline Park's site or Klook.

Can I use the Visit Busan Pass on the subway?

Only the physical card pass. Top it up at a subway station or convenience store and it works as a transit card on subways and buses, before and after the pass period. The mobile pass has no transit function.

How long is the KTX from Seoul to Busan?

About 2.5 hours from Seoul Station to Busan Station. Korail opens ticket sales at 07:00 two months before departure, and you can board with a ticket on your phone.

Can you visit Gyeongju as a day trip from Busan?

Yes. Gyeongju is under 30 minutes away by KTX, and guided tours pick up in Busan. In October 2026 Bulguksa and Seokguram admit visitors until 17:30, so start early, and remember that only one bus an hour links the two.
